Some bricks are turned 90 degrees to act as shelves for plants. Other bricks remain in their most structurally efficient position, arranged to allow for staggered vertical reinforcing.

Native, drought resistant plants in crocheted "drawers" are slotted into the open shelves.

Crochet is used as the construction method because it is inherently permeable. The permeability is easily adjusted by changing the gauge and material thickness.
